Analysis of Mars-orbit-rendezvous concept with emphasis on use of rendezvous at Mars in light of constraints placed by requirement for tangential approach to and departure from Mars orbit for achievement of propulsive efficiency; scheme is devised wherein orbital altitude and inclination are chosen so that nodal and apsidal motion associated with Martian oblateness results in tangential orbital launch at time of departure.
