Chief object of test was to show that high power-transmission efficiency could be obtained in all ratios, and that as corollary temperature of box remains low during prolonged full load operation; ratios in box tested were 4.231, 2.610, 1.621 and 1.0 to one; characteristic curves of Gardner 61.3 engine tested in conjunction with Cotal gearbox.
