10 Diesel-mechanical rail cars ordered from Ganz and Co of Budapest by Egyptian State Railways in 1934; 6-cyl (170 mm by 220 mm) Ganz-Jendrassik engine develops continuous output of 220 bhp at 1250 rpm and maximum of 275 bhp at 1450 rpm, and has weight of approximately 20 lb per bhp on continuous rating.
