Speed of vehicles was measured on roads not affected by congestion on Marseilles Autoroute Nord at non-peak hours; tests were begun with ordinary stop watch and mirror reflectors followed by further tests with electronic recording machine made in Sweden; effect on fuel consumption; reduction in speed of goods; vehicle climbing fairly steep slope has its repercussions on running conditions for all vehicles.
