Recent development of method for depositing, electrolytically, porous plating of chromium on bearing surfaces overcomes objections resulting from conventional plating procedures and affords extremely high resistance to wear, corrosion and abrasion; as part of program of investigating cylinder and piston ring materials, tests were carried out on water cooled cylinder barrel, chromium plated; data on wear with plated cylinders and rings.
