Assessment of projected technology advances for future gas turbine engines is restricted to small engines for power levels between 300 and 800 shp; Module Accessory Concept presents one approach to achieve size match while addressing logistics problem associated with subsonic aircraft and small utility helicopter for military service, particularly for relatively short duration missions; two areas requiring technology advancement are engine starters and secondary power extraction; possible design approaches for both are suggested.
