In producing parts for its own aircraft and in providing parts for others, Beech Aircraft Corp has replaced riveting and welding with adhesive bonding wherever possible; main reasons are increased strength and reduced weight, smoother surfaces, reduced manufacturing costs and elimination of bimetallic corrosion; steps in standard procedure followed in adhesive bonding are prefit, surface preparation, adhesive primer application, adhesive layup and curing.
