When British Airports Authority took over its four airports from Ministry of Aviation on Apr 1 1966, it inherited, at Heathrow Airport, London, major redevelopment program for Central Area and project for cargo terminal on southwest side of airport; paper examines two developments; to meet shorter-term needs, new passenger terminal is under construction on northeast side of Central Area at Heathrow, construction features of which are described together with other projects envisaged; plan is included of cargo terminal under construction at Heathrow, due to open at end of 1968, showing airlines' sheds and aircraft stands; provision for further extension of cargo sheds after 1970 is indicated.
