A concept of a new alternative theory of diffraction grating spectral device is proposed, whereunder complex spectra of optical emission are specifically reviewed. Under the radio-optical approach the appropriate analysis has been performed making it possible to identify properties of complex spectra in higher diffraction orders. The diffraction grating has been reviewed by methods of transition of ideas and methods of theoretical radio engineering into optics.
