A codeshare agreement is a type of commercial arrangements between carriers that involves sharing a special flight code for a particular flight or assigning a plane to one of the carriers to operate a particular airline, which the companies share.
This practice has rapidly increased, and many airlines resort to have one or further Code share agreements with other airlines. This kind of arrangements enable these companies  to access new markets and cities and as a result improve competitiveness in the market. Codeshare agreements  also enable passengers to fly on multiple airlines with a single ticket.
