Creation of sustainable transport systems in accordance with the main principles of sustainable development: protection of public health and environment, protection of the ecosystem, limitation of discharge gasses, sustainable usage of renewable resources and minimal usage of non-renewable ones, is suggested in 'The strategies of railroad, road, water, air and intermodal transport development in the Republic of Serbia from 2008-2015.' In order to efficiently solve the tasks in 'The national strategy for sustainable development', it is necessary to create and implement clear organizational relationships between local governments and local transport companies. The city of Subotica must define the further development of passenger transport system in accordance with the basic goal: achieving the highest mobility level as possible in the system of public transport within the area of sustainable development. Gradual acceptance of the basics of 'The Plan of sustainable urban mobility' in the city of Subotica, needs to have support from local, political and executive bodies to the sustainable urban transport and usage of technical skills of expert personnel for managing, the unmanaged market of transport services in the city of Subotica for today.
