The article discusses various aspects of the engineering and psychological design of the cockpit of advanced aircraft as an integral part of the overall design of aviation technics. The design process and factors that should be taken into account when solving the problem of designing the crew workplace are described. The issues of constructing the information control field of the cabin, various ways of receiving and entering information are discussed, promising methods of human-machine interaction are described. It is concluded that the issues of obtaining and entering information by the crew in the process of performing a flight task should be resolved taking into account multimodality.
