The goal of the paper was the analysis of accidents including collisions and contacts of ships around world sea areas between 2004 and 2014 resulting in the sea environment pollution due to release of chemicals as well as in the total loss of ships and their sinking. Moreover, the type and age of ships affected the collisions or contacts and the locations of sea accidents as well as the consequences of these accidents were investigated.
