This article proposes a history of this banal object that is the Parisian bus ticket. Less invested than the metro ticket, with which it merged in 1967, this small rectangle cardboard is at the heart of different tensions. Its apparent simplicity today should not make us forget that it was the support of a complex tariff grid, specific to a surface network immersed in the city. He also held the role of a sesame between a bushy public space and a space on board known under the control of the company. As a result, it is at the center of the fight against fraud, first that of agents before it is more towards travelers. But the ticket is also a symbolic object, first support of relations between the operator and the public authorities before being more widely one of the icons of Paris, probably because of its high malleability that offers it to be the object of multiple uses beyond its use in transport.
