A 6 Unit CubeSat was developed during the EIVE project to accommodate a challenging E-band transmitter payload. The system architecture of the EIVE CubeSat is introduced and recommendations for new designs are derived based on the lessons learned. The major part of experiences was gained from the on-board data handling and communication system, which includes SoCs and CCSDS protocol via S-band, the high-power electrical system’s design, the COTS attitude control system as well as the self-developed structure, mechanisms and harness. Moreover, first results and experiences with the subsystems and components during the LEOP are presented.
