PFC del programa Erasmus EPS ; In recent years the mobility and ground traffic at the airports has increased significantly. Therefore, monitoring and tracking of vehicles has become more difficult and more expensive. This is due to the fact, that the surveillance of the airport vehicles demands a huge amount of human resources. This paper aims to introduce a system, which can not only monitor all vehicles in real time, but also almost entirely replace the human resource factor, thus decreasing the overall costs enormously. This system consists of GPS based trackers, sending data via radio frequency, placed in the airport units. All the information is gathered and processed using an open source based software called Python. This approach allows the traffic controllers to track all the vehicles in one central unit, without having any fixed costs. In conclusion, this highly cost effective system will be more efficient and safer than any other system known today.
