Aim of the Study. Selecting and analysing the latest scientific publications to find out what modern techniques are applied for improvement of gait disorders in people with stroke and to compare them with other methods of rehabilitation. Objectives. 1. To find out what modern technologies are applied for improvement of gait disorders in people with stroke. 2. To evaluate the efficiency of modern technologies for improvement of gait disorders on the basis of scientific research. 3. To compare the efficiency of modern technologies and traditional rehabilitation for improvement of gait disorders in people with stroke. Methods. A systematic literature review was performed by using ”PubMed“ database. Combinations of the keywords ”gait/locomotion/walking/ambulation“, ”stroke“, ”rehabilitation“ were used to find publications. Scientific articles written in English and published not longer than 5 years ago were analysed. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were based on PICO selection model recommended in PRISMA guidelines. Results. 551 publications were found by the research based on keyword combinations and selected filters. 7 of them matched inclusion criteria and were included in the review. 2 of them evaluated the efficiency of the robot-assisted gait training (Locomat), 2 of them evaluated efficiency of virtual reality, 3 of them evaluated efficiency of treadmill training and body weight supported treadmill training. Conclusions: 1. Robot-assisted gait training, virtual reality, treadmill training and body weight supported treadmill training are modern technologies applied to people with stroke. 2. Robot-assisted gait training by using Lokomat system, treadmill training, body weight supported treadmill training and virtual reality are efficient modern technologies used for improvement of gait disorders in people with stroke. 3. Robot-assisted gait training (Lokomat) and treadmill training are not more efficient than conventional gait training. Additional research is needed to compare the efficiency of virtual reality and body weight supported treadmill training with conventional gait training.
