Drivers' improper response to emergency is an important factor in road accidents. Improving emergency response ability of drivers is the most effective method of reducing traffic accidents. None the less, very little research has considered how to improve drivers' response. This study chooses a typical emergency scene in snow to design a DirectX-based simulator tool to address the problem. Thirty subjects participate in the tests in the simulator wearing Polygraph. ECG parameters of the subjects are simultaneously detected by Polygraph. Experimental data are compared and analyzed. Consequently, training standards on different emergency driving scenes on urban road are obtained as well. This research demonstrates that driving simulators can be used to help driver emergency response become more accurate and follow the standard training times rapidly.
