Freeway visibility has significant time distribution. In this article, the statistical analysis method was used to study freeway visibility characteristics and influencing factors, which include humidity, temperature, wind speed, air pressure, etc. Then the scatterplots of visibility and its influencing factors were presented to illustrate the relationship among them. The author took Ruchen freeway for an example to make a detailed analysis. The results indicate (1) dense fog mainly occurs in evening; (2)visibility has good correlation with humidity and wind speed, while poor correlation with air pressure; and (3)dense fog mainly occurs in the temperature of 2°C to 6°C.
