Traffic loading is one of the main factors affecting the service life of pavement structures. Obtaining the traffic volume of expressway sections is the key to accurately estimating the remaining life of pavement structure. However, in highway maintenance projects, if the cross-section of the maintenance project does not coincide with the cross-section of the traffic volume observation station, the accuracy of the traffic volume data analysis results cannot be guaranteed. This paper proposes a method for calculating the traffic volume of any section along the highway, using the vehicle type and traffic volume data collected at the entrance and exit of the highway and the equal probability principle, thereby improving the accuracy of highway traffic volume data calculation.
