Reasonable approaches and values of speed restriction can decline the number of traffic accidents and reduce the severity of accidents, and improve traffic safety and operational efficiency therefore. Aiming at analyzing and studying the linear and operating characteristics as well as traffic accidents on the Lianhuo Highway in Xinjiang, this thesis has observed implementation of all kinds of speed limit measures, put forward a more reasonable speed management and control method and provided a reference and fundamental basis for highways' design, upgrading and speed control in the future.
