Modern tram, a green and sustainable public transportation, has been widely used in the world due to its capacity, comfort, convenience, and environmental protection. This paper presented the priority organization mode of modern tram. The core of the scheme was to use the Webster method and a mathematical model to optimize the signal timing scheme. Also, he active priority strategy was adopted for modern tram, namely the early green and green extension. In the last part of the paper Dalian Modern Tram No. 201 was studies and data was collected from this line and applied modern tramway priority organization scheme. The VisVAP in VISSIM was used to show the reasonableness and superiority of the priority organization scheme of modern tram.
