The long-term performance of long life pavement with flexible base and the traditional pavement with semi-rigid base which has the same other layers were evaluated and compared depend on the indexes of pavement deflection, damage, and rutting based on the construction and maintenance engineering of Hu-Ning Highway, Yan-Jiang Highway, and Zhen-Li Highway in Jiangsu Province, China. In addition, the economic benefit of both kinds of pavements was analyzed by present value cost (PVC) method. A result showed that, at the beginning, the performance of the traditional asphalt pavement with semi-rigid was better. Later, the durability and economic benefit of the long life pavement with flexible base was better.
