Studies have indicated that there will be a national shortage of engineers and scientists in the twenty-first century. Idaho TECH (Total Engineering Challenge): The Mars Rover Challenge was developed by the Idaho Space Grant Consortium to address the future need for engineers and scientists by stimulating students' interest in mathematics and science at an early age.
