In order to create a safe tunnel lighting environment and provide a good driving experience, this paper analyzes the influence of the layout of the luminaires in tunnels on their glare. By establishing a tunnel simulation model, the threshold incremental glare evaluation method is used to explore the relationship between the spacing and height of the luminaire and the glare level for different vehicle types. The research results show that increasing the height of the luminaire can effectively reduce the glare effect, and the glare difference of different models becomes smaller. Increasing the spacing of the luminaires will slightly increase the glare, and the glare difference of different models is almost unchanged. Therefore, the height of the layout and the spacing of the luminaires can be increased to achieve safety and energy saving effects.
