For the purpose of building high-speed Locomotive Traction Gear parametric solid modeling and promoting calculation accuracy of gear strength, this paper provides a method of involute helical gear parametric solid modeling technology based on Pro/Engineer software system. This paper builds the 3D solid model of a kind of locomotive traction gear, and importing ANSYS software system for finite element analysis about its stress distribution on the condition of interference fit and being loaded between driving gear and motor shaft, proposing improvement method of strength and working life of this gear.
