The study of the traffic accident mechanisms on the spacing-restricted exit, as well as the exploration on the law and trends of traffic accidents in the existing traffic conditions, can effectively prevent the traffic accidents in the area of small interchange spacing, which is important to improve the security of such area. By analyzing specific cases, this paper makes clear the types of accidents, and then elaborates the relationship between traffic accidents and the traffic flow parameter such as traffic volume, velocity, traffic composition in the area of small interchange spacing. For the high number of rear-ending collision cases, it researches rear-end collision mechanisms on such an area. It provides a theoretical basis of the establishment of the traffic accident model and the research of the security design technology of the interchange spacing-restricted exit.
