The continuous increase of railway transportation capacity and running speed make wheel/rail dynamic contact force increase and aggravate rail structure damage which endangers train operation safety. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor vehicle state and running safety, safety monitoring in essence is to measure wheel/rail force accurately and continuously. Based on the wheel/rail interaction characteristics, a radial basic function (RBF) neural network is applied to reflect the nonlinear relationship of wheel/rail force at different measure positions, achieving the purpose of instrumented rail wheel/rail force continuous measurement.
