Walking for the first and last mile of travel are more expensive compared to the main trip, which is a significant issue in a developing country as Indonesia. Less transit users prefer to walk due to the availability and unsuitable design of the pedestrian facility. Universitas Indonesia (UI) campus is one of main destinations in Jakarta, encourages active transport by improving the pedestrian facility. The transit users have to walk, use either campus buses, or motorbike taxi in accessing their final destination (i.e., faculty or administration office). Applying a stated preference, the study captures the transit users accepted walking distance. An improvement of pedestrian affects the intention to walk, the transit users tend to walk for short (0–100 m) and medium (100–500 m) range towards their final destination rather than using a bus. The model illustrates that the walking distance is affected by several attributes namely; saving time, walking distance, and gender.
