Vehicle speed is an important factor in traffic accident reconstruction, and the tire/road adhesion coefficient is a key parameter for it. At present, the average braking deceleration method is mainly adopted for the estimation of the tire/road adhesion coefficient. However, the result will be heavily skewed while the vehicle speed is low, and the unstable segment makes up a large proportion of the braking time. In this paper, the estimation model of tire/road adhesion coefficient of an ABS vehicle is obtained by fitting the brake test data (three ABS vehicles, six pavements, and different vehicle speeds), and an estimation method is proposed accordingly. It has been verified that the method has better performance for estimating the tire/road adhesion coefficient, especially at low vehicle speed.
