Besides small radius curves and rail joints, railway turnout is one of the weak parts of railway track structure. Due to its complex geometry linetype, turnout becomes one of decisive factors to define the speed that is possible by means of the diverging route of the turnout. A sophisticated system was developed, which could effectively complete the turnout geometry linetype design and drawing. The foundational theory and the method applied in this system were described and illustrated respectively in this paper, the structure and the functions of this system were explained in detail. This system can achieve the calculation of turnout plane parameters and the drawing of its geometry linetype accurately and rapidly, so it improves the design quality and efficiency greatly.
