Marine diesel-engine is the core equipment of shipping power plant. In order to supervise its real-time running state, the online monitoring system of marine diesel engine based on virtual instruments is developed. The hardware and software design to the monitoring system are introduced. The different kinds of sensitive signals of diesel engine are collected by using corresponding sensors. The signals are analyzed and processed by the software Labview platform with the methods of vibration and thermodynamic analysis. Then the data is transferred to the scene embedded computer and industrial control computer in Central Control Room. The monitoring system can complete the diesel engine signal monitoring well, and can withdraw the unusual signal to provide the data for the following diesel engine failure diagnosis expert system.
