In order to realize intelligent event management of freeways and improve its safety and efficiency, this paper presents research on traffic information monitoring system to cooperative vehicle instructure system (CVIS). The current traffic information monitoring system monitoring data content and its characteristics are described first. Then, the principle of traffic information data collection and exchange is analyzed to guide the routine collection and exchange of data. Meanwhile, the traffic information monitoring scheme and traffic information monitoring system architecture are established according to the content of traffic information monitoring and the principle of collection and exchange. After that, the existing problems and technical requirements of traffic information monitoring system to CVIS in China are analyzed. Finally, according to the technical requirements, the paper puts forward the improvement of the traffic information monitoring system.
