Large Transport Aircraft (LTA) is the inevitable choice to develop modern aviation industry, it has the clear information character different from conventional aircrafts. This paper focuses on the Information Environment for Flying Operation (IEFO) of LTA, which is composed of many elements, such as pilots, LTA, flight route and various information supplies, takes apart and analyzes the information structure and internal relations. Then the information processing courses of pilots are discussed based on different levels and a series of describing models proposed. The concept of IEFO is defined in this paper, and the conceptual model for the design of IEFO is proposed, which is suitable for the IEFO design and optimization.
