Through investigation of the reservoir area in Guangxi Province and the definition of key risk factors (such as human, ship, environment, and management), this paper evaluates the waterway traffic safety status by using the pressure - state - response (PSR) evaluation theory combined with the Analytic Hierarchy Process method and linear quadratic evaluation function. Finally, some long-term safety supervision mechanisms of waterway traffic have been proposed with respect to the characteristics of the reservoir and key risk sources.
