This paper presents an overview of the development of the SEDRIS standards, their contents and applications, and examples of their implementation for the management and exchange of environmental data. This overview includes data applications involving Space Environment Effects; Space Science and Astronomy; Space-based Technologies for Water Resources, Hydrology & Environments; Remote Sensing, Geomatics, Global Positioning System usage and Geographic Information System applications; and Air Traffic and Air Transport.
