GPC was proposed for a complex train lateral suspension model. In this thesis, a 17-DOF train lateral semi-active suspension system was modeled by Simulink software. Then, the root mean square value (RMS) of train lateral acceleration was used as object function, and GPC (generalized predictive control) was designed. The result of simulation reveals that compared with passive suspension, RMS reduces more significantly by 19.9% and lateral ride comfort index reduces more significantly by 16.5%.
