To improve the travel efficiency of passengers and the service level of urban rail transit, it is necessary to study the traffic congestion index of rail transit stations. Combining field research data, this paper categorizes and analyzes a variety of station facilities including flow limiting facilities, security inspection equipment, fare collection equipment, stairway or escalator, passageway and platform, and the service level of urban rail transit stations, to obtain a congestion evaluation index of different kinds of facilities. Then based on congestion index of all kinds of equipment and facilities, this study determines the congestion index of stations and the grade standard through the weighted sum method, according to the degree of passenger flow demand for equipment. Finally, this paper analyzes the index and degree of congestion by the example of Fuxingmen Station in Beijing.
