Based on the analysis of the current status of Chinese M, inland water container transportation development and relevant factors, the problem of poor timeliness was pointed out as the key restrictive factor to the container transportation. An innovative container transport organization mode of river-sea docking through transport is proposed to adapt to the middle-grade waterway and to satisfy the needs of trunk lines container transport. Applied result indicates that the mode can effectively reduce the relay link, enhance the transportation efficiency, guarantee the sailing schedule of trunk lines container and eliminate the discredits of cargo owner to inland water transportation speed. The mode has strong adaptability and maneuverability to develop middle-grade channel container transportation.
