This study analyzes the parking space choice process after drivers enter parking lots. The main influencing factors of the driver’s parking space choice are determined, including walking distance, driving distance, the type of parking spaces, the condition of parking spaces, properties of cars and drivers, and special needs of the drivers. In order to establish a model, the factors are standardized and quantified. Considering that different influencing factors have different importance to parking space choice, this paper determines the weight of each influencing factor based on the method of maximizing the degree of difference. The optimal parking space choice model is established based on TOPSIS method. The verification result proves the applicability and practicability of the model, and the model can effectively select the optimal parking space for drivers.
