Serving an important role in the public transportation system, modern tram tracks developed very quickly in recent years in China. However, there is still no reasonable method to calculate the subgrade settlement of the tram track. In this paper, an explicit-implicit iterative algorithm is employed to predict the subgrade settlement of a newly constructed tram track in Shanghai. Results indicate that the subgrade settlement of the tram track can be well controlled by a recommended pile-slab structure. The consolidation settlement of the tram track subgrade is 8.2 mm, and the cumulative plastic deformation of the subgrade induced by tram track dynamic loads is 3.3 mm. The total settlement of the tram track subgrade is 11.5 mm, which can meet the requirement of the post-construction settlement control standards of the tram track.
