The development of public transport is one of the efficient ways to solve traffic problems in big cities. The attraction of new public transport users can be accomplished by increasing travel satisfaction. Based on the data collected in Xi’an, China, in 2015, this paper identified the key determinations of travel satisfaction by establishing three ordered logit models comprising personal attribute, service quality, mood, trip attributes, and travel satisfaction. Apart from previous studies, access time, waiting time, in-vehicle time, egress time, and the corresponding time difference between expected and experienced were calculated for travel time. The results show that different public transit groups have different perceptions of different time components. The length of travel time has negative influence on metro users, however, for bus users, waiting time difference between expected and experienced is more significant. In addition, positive mood, including happy and enjoyment, are all positive factors of travel satisfaction.
