For providing a standard method for land-use planning of urban rail transit areas and resolving the issue of sustainable development this paper proposes the index system of guidelines for land-use planning and analyzes the interaction between land-use planning and transportation planning. Taking transport oriented and limited land-use into account, a quantified analysis is proposed as the scientific approach for creating urban planning guidelines. Riverside Newtown, a "Two-Oriented" Society in Changsha, is used to illustrate (via planning software) that the method presented in the paper is practicable, rational and the embodiment of interaction between land use and transportation.
