A total of 569 truck crashes of the China In-depth Accident Study (CIDAS) database were analyzed for this study. These included crashes between trucks and passenger vehicles, crashes between two trucks, and crashes between trucks and vulnerable road users. These crashes were analyzed in depth, including the number of accidents, injuries and deaths, and injury parts. The following standards were also discussed:(1) motor vehicles and trailers - lateral protection requirements; (2) commercial vehicles - front underrun protection requirements; (3) motor vehicles and trailers - rear underrun protection requirements;and, (4) the protection of occupants of the cab of a commercial vehicle.
