A rational slot allocation for flights is very important to ease the congestion in airspaces or landing airports. Based on the analysis of slot allocation algorithms of foreign air traffic flow management systems and with the combination of the domestic air traffic flow management situation, a flight slot allocation algorithm suitable for China is proposed. Test of the algorithm indicated that the proposed flight slot allocation algorithm is reasonable, effective and practical, which satisfied the principles of overall optimum, fair and reasonable for ground delay flights.
