The increasing popularity of the use of electric bicycles in China in recent years has transformed the urban traffic travel structure, changing the impacts on the natural environment from the traffic system. By analyzing the energy consumption and emissions from various traffic modes during life cycle, this paper discussed the impacts (energy consumption, carbon emissions, SO2, PM and pb consumption) ontheenvironment from the transformation of urban travel behaviors caused by the development of electric bicycles. Taking advantage of the electric bicycle travel survey data in Xi'an, 2012, results have been found that the use of electric bicycles has increased the emissions of SO2, PM and the consumption of pb. However, energy consumption and CO2 emissions were reduced.
