The main road of Wuhan - Wuluo Road - is the research object, and the paper studies its traffic operations. Based on an infrastructure and traffic volume survey of the main intersections of Wuluo Road, we analyze the road's traffic organization. Using the theory of traffic organization optimization, the paper starts with the perspectives of traffic channelization, traffic phase, traffic signal and collaborative optimization. The authors propose the traffic organization optimizing program for Wuluo Road's main intersections, including hardware (road infrastructure) and software (traffic control), such as traffic channelization design, traffic signal control design and grade-separated junction design at the intersections. With the collaborative control of all intersections, optimization of the whole road can be achieved.
