The basic operating parameters of a railroad line include the three components: the weight of a train (W), the numbers of daily operating trains (n) and mean velocity of all moving trains V¯). Their relationship exhibits much complexity. The simulating method can be used to study the railway operating system and its dynamic spatial-temporal evolvement, and then the quantitative relationship between basic characteristics parameters is obtained numerically. In advance, the existence of optimal configuration of characteristic parameters is testified for railway line operating system. The result can be applied to seek an optimal configuration of characteristic parameters to make a strategic decision for Railway Freight Transportation Service.
