The objective of this study is to evaluate the viscoelastic response of polyester fiber reinforced asphalt pavement subjected to long periodic load. The four-unit five-parameter model is used to simulate the viscoelastic property of fiber reinforced asphalt concrete. The variation of deflections of characteristic points on surface for fiber reinforced pavement subjected to periodic static and dynamic load at high temperature is analyzed using ABAQUS based on viscoelastic mechanics. It can be found that the accumulative deflection at 3600s shows bigger value than that of instantaneous loading, and the deflection appear decrease due to the addition of fiber to asphalt pavement. The dynamic deflection of asphalt pavement subjected to half rectangle wave periodic load is smaller than static deflection. The fiber reinforced asphalt pavement suffers from less dynamic residual deflection compared with common asphalt pavement. The studies we have performed show the static and dynamic creep behaviors of asphalt mixtures have significant influence on the deflection of pavement for long period. The use of fiber improves the resistance to deformation and rutting of asphalt pavement.
