It is essential to rapidly evaluate the performance of protective coatings on vehicles. In this study, a special testing device is made for such a purpose, using Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) and fitting parameters of electrochemical equivalent circuit to evaluate vehicle coating performance on-site. The study shows that performance of the same coating varies significantly from one part of the vehicle to another even though it appears identical on the surface.
